Speed Test – Week 153 Summary Table
The fastest host this week in Mumbai is Kinsta with a time of 2.13s.
With our 4 new premium hosts on board in 2019, Kinsta dominated early with fastest load time across 4 of the first 5 weeks of testing. More recently we have seen a shift with Flywheel dominating the speed rankings. They have claimed the fastest host honors in 4 of the last 5 weeks.
And this week marks the 3rd week we are using our host’s Canadian server. At the same time, we have removed WP Rocket to get a clear indication of the hosts performance. During the 1st week of testing Canadian servers, all 3 hosts that have a Canadian specific server (Flywheel, WP Engine & Kinsta) performed the best from the Dallas test location.
From London, the story changed slightly as Pressidium has proved to be fastest. This is interesting because they are the only premium host that doesn’t have a specific Canadian server (so is using the USA server). Our remaining 3 premium hosts are a step below.
Now this week 2 of our 3 hosts with Canadian servers, Kinsta & Flywheel, have proved to be comfortably faster than our other 4 hosts.
Our budget hosts of SiteGround & Lightning Base once again haven’t fared so well this week, likely due to the removal of WP Rocket. They also remain in their USA server location due to no Canadian server being available with their respective plans.
For next week’s test, I will change up the location to Vancouver. This will be the key test of our hosts with Canadian servers, do they justify choosing a server from Canada, or is a USA server a better option??
