Desktop Speed Test – Week 52 Summary Table
The winner this week is SiteGround with a time of 1.71s. This time is fair way behind the London record of 0.92s set by DreamHost in Week 30.
On our last visit to London with Kraken setup (in Week 49), the average page load time for our 8 hosts was 3.51s. This week with Kraken replaced with ShortPixel, the average load time is slightly slower at 3.61s. Once again, DreamHost has performed extremely poorly (and will be replaced by another host very soon), if we remove their results from both, the average for Kraken is 3.12s, while ShortPixel is 3.06s.
This is the second week of our ShortPixel Speed Study and it’s looking as though it will be a close contest between Kraken and ShortPixel.
Next week we’re off to Sydney, as we complete this deep dive into finding the best performing Image Optimizer.
