Speed Test – Week 141 Summary Table
The fastest host this week is Kinsta with a time of 1.13s.
With this being our first test with our 4 new premium hosts, it is interesting to see all of them achieved faster load times than our previous best 2 performers in Lightning Base & SiteGround.
For next week’s test, I will change up our testing location to London. I wonder whether this impressive start to our new hosts will continue?
And this Week’s Winner is…

I’ve been spending waaaaay too much time researching “Siteground vs. WpEngine” for a new web project that I’m starting… more time researching than doing, which is a problem. Most of the sites that have come up in my searches have been affiliate sites rehashing the same ol’ specs and anecdotal evidence. Found this site from a search on Twitter and once I started digging in, I was pleasantly surprised at the weekly data. Not only that, I see that you’ve recently added premium web hosts so, based on last weeks tests, WPEngine outperforms Siteground by a long shot. I also see that WPRocket is named the best caching plugin… would love to see how WPRocket + WpEngine / Kinsta / etc. perform, but I assume that’ll be coming down the road. Bookmarked your site as a great resource… Now, off to make something great! Cheers. Dale
Hi Dale, thank you so much for such an amazing comment – I really appreciate it!!
I’m so glad to hear that my research has proved usual for you. Yeah, it was fascinating to find out how much WP Engine outperformed SiteGround in the 1st week of testing premium hosts.
And your call about incorporating tests around WP Rocket is definitely planned – will kick off in about a month’s time.
I wish you all the best with your new project!! 🙂
Cheers,
Clint
