Pingdom Logo

  • Location of Test: 10 North American Locations
  • Frequency of Testing: Every Minute across the Last 7 Days
  • Number of Weekly Tests = 1 x60 x24 x7 x8 = 80,640 (xMinutes xHours xDays xSites)

Uptime Test – Week 48 Summary Table

Our hosts have recorded a solid uptime performance this week, with 5 hosts achieving the ultimate goal of 100% Uptime (5 hosts achieved 100% in Week 47):

  1. GoDaddy
  2. InMotion
  3. SiteGround
  4. Bluehost
  5. HostGator

And our winner this week is GoDaddy, recording the fastest time of 248ms. The last time we ran this North American test (in Week 45 with EWWW), GoDaddy’s time was slightly slower at 263ms.

Checking in on the overall performance of changing from EWWW to Kraken, the average response time across our 8 hosts in Week 45 was 1,437ms, while this week it has slowed to 1,661ms. Note: If we ignore the poor performance by DreamHost (now 4th week in a row and will now need to be investigated), the average response time is 1,158ms for EWWW and 1,113ms for Kraken.

This is the first week of our Kraken Speed Study and its looking like it will be a close contest between EWWW & Kraken.

Next week we will swing our test location to Europe and see if we can find out which plugin is the better performer?
